Copywriter- Brand and Strategy

We are looking for a Copywriter who can think beyond conventional “content writing” and operate at the intersection of storytelling, audience behavior, and brand communication. This role sits within the EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) function but extends across multiple strategic areas, including brand communication, research-driven writing, editorial support, ghostwriting, and campaign storytelling. You will contribute to how EssentiallySports communicates, both internally and externally, and to its audience. This is not a volume-writing role. It is a thinking-heavy role that requires clarity, curiosity, and strong contextual judgment. Expect a copy to go through a series of feedback and dozens of iterations until it reaches a level where the target audience will benefit the most. What You will Do 1. Brand & Strategic Writing Write long-form and short-form copy for company communications such as case studies, brand narratives, blog posts, and thought-leadership pieces Support documentation of major initiatives, product launches, and strategic projects Translate internal insights into clear external communication 2. Audience-Facing Copy Develop copy for platform messaging, social captions, newsletters, and audience engagement campaigns Adapt tone depending on platform, objective, and user behavior 3. Research-Driven Content Conduct structured research on competitors, industry trends, audience patterns Synthesize findings into readable internal reports, strategic notes, or a brand playbook 4. Branded & Partnership Communication Assist with storytelling for branded collaborations, campaign write-ups, and promotional material Ensure alignment between partner messaging and EssentiallySports’ voice 5. Editorial Support & Quality Assurance Edit and refine copy for clarity, structure, and tone consistency Maintain high standards of accuracy and readability across all writing formats 6. EEAT Project Mgmt Run sentiment analysis, find AOIs, collaborate internally and sort everything to ensure the org’s work meets right signals Handling multiple projects that combine to improve the brand and trust signals for the org What We Are Looking For Core Requirements 1–3 years of experience in writing, copywriting, journalism, or related roles Strong command of written English with the ability to write clearly and concisely Ability to structure complex ideas into readable, logical narratives Strong interest in sports business, fandom culture, and digital media ecosystems Comfort working across multiple writing formats, from short copy to long-form pieces and even a newer format that one can come up with Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with changing priorities Good to Have Experience in sports media, digital publishing, or audience-focused platforms Familiarity with newsletters, social content, or brand communication writing Exposure to research-based writing or analytical reporting Basic understanding of audience metrics and engagement signals How We Work, Our Culture We foster a culture of open knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration, where insights and learnings move freely across teams to help everyone grow and perform at their best.
